Mai-Thi tells us what she values most about her time at Droemer Knaur

What's your name and what do you do at Droemer Knaur (VDK)?

My name is Mai-Thi Nguyen Thanh and I'm training to be a Media Management Assistant in both digital & print at Droemer Knaur.

Why did you decide to join VDK and start the apprenticeship?

I enjoy reading incredibly much and the idea of working around books appealed to me just as much. The decision to do this training was very easy for me. It offers me an insight into many interesting professions, so that at the end of my training I can say with certainty where my strengths lie and where I can best use them. VDK also offers employee-oriented programs, which I find very appealing. It's simply where I'd like to see myself working.

What are you working on at your current training station?

At the moment, I'm part of our marketing team. My current tasks focus on content creation for our social media channels and designing our Amazon Plus pages.

What's an exciting project for you so far?

My most exciting project so far is designing our Amazon Plus pages. I like the freedom in the design and the exchange with colleagues that I have throughout the process.

What are the next rotations you are looking forward to?

My next department is press and events. Here, too, the tasks are sure to be colorful and varied. I'm already very excited about the tasks that await me.

What is your favorite aspect of your work at VDK ?

I particularly appreciate the working relationship with my colleagues. They are friendly and helpful at all times. I feel very well looked after. I also appreciate the hybrid work that VDK offers. I can decide at any time whether to work in the office or at home.
