Meeting Challenges with Innovation and Quality

KERSTIN TELLS US WHAT SHE LOVES ABOUT HER WORK AT KIWI

Why did you decide to join Kiepenheuer & Witsch (KiWi)?

When I was a student, the superb literary and committed socio-political program of KiWi stood out for me.

What was your development within the group like?

I started in 1992 during my studies as an editing volunteer for KiWi. In 1995, I took on a permanent position in editing and one year later, I was appointed as editor for the Paperback business segment. In 2002, I took over the fiction section as chief editor and became a member of the management board. Since 2019, I have been the publisher of the publishing house KiWi.

What are the special challenges you and your team are currently facing?

Meeting the change of media usage, the competition from other media offerings and other information and entertainment habits, with smart and innovative strategies, is a great challenge.

What do you value especially about your work at KiWi?

I particularly appreciate the focus on quality in our books, contents and formats. In addition, the advanced innovation in all departments as well as the high level of commitment, passion and professionalism of the entire team.

What would you recommend to students or graduates who want to join our group?

Interested persons should inform themselves about the potential employer via the website, media and products, and find out in an internship/traineeship whether the cooperation is mutually beneficial.
